Arthritis can keep people from exercising - when the joints are inflamed, exercises and activities like walking or weight training can become very painful and difficult. These are challenges that can be overcome, though.

As soon as you are diagnosed with arthritis, you will have guidelines that you should follow with regard to your diet and your exercise routine - things you should do and things you should avoid, because there are foods and exercises that can help you keep arthritis in check. There are also foods that can aggravate arthritis and inflammation that you must avoid, like red meat, food additives, dairy products and processed foods.

Well, I have always believed what my treadmill said, but I saw on a website that using a treadmill at the speed I do burns only about have of what the treadmill says it does (Of course the website was trying to show how much better their product was than other exercise equipment). Who should I believe? Also, I am trying to lose weight, so any other weight loss tips you have would be great.

Part-4 When you decide that it is time to start working out, start slowly and do not get discouraged if you do not achieve your fitness goals immediately or after the first week. A lot of people make this mistake. They feel that if they push their bodies harder they can lose more weight in a couple of work outs. This is a very serious thing and this must be avoided at all times. If you try to push your body too much in the first few goes, you end up with sprained joints, a sore or bad back and even torn ligaments. The golden rule to be followed here is slow and steady and achieve your goal sooner and it will be permanent.
