Which of the following statements about the different types (shapes) of galaxies is correct?
Which of the following statements about the different types (shapes) of galaxies is correct?
All galaxies start out as ellipticals, but some later evolve to be spirals and irregulars.
Whatever type a galaxy is at its birth, that’s what it will be for all time.
What type we see a galaxy to be just depends on the angle at which
we happen to see it; all galaxies look roughly the same in shape.
90% of all galaxies are spirals (including our Milky Way); the other two types are very unusual.
Collisions and mergers between galaxies can sometimes change a galaxy’s type.

its not the first one, not the second cause it can change, definately not third, not 4th cause most is elliptical, i’d have the say the fifth one collosions and mergers between galaxies can cometimes change a galaxy’s type.
Also, if u think about it it probalby would change the pull in gravity. So the last one, “Collisions and mergers between galaxies can sometimes change a galaxy’s type.”

#5 is most correct.
Hubbles classification of galaxies may be considered a scheme for the evolution of galaxies from eliptical to spiral and spiral bar type galaxies, but holds short of stating that ALL galaxies start as eliptical.
In the distant galaxie cluster named Abel 3827, 13 smaller galaxies have been identified as going thru changes due to collisions with the larger, central galaxie.
So avoiding the answers committed to ALL and ALWAYS, and knowing the # 5 is a correct statement, #5 is your answer.
