Any aerobic activity like walking, jogging, swimming. . . will help to burn calories –which, in turn, CAN burn fat — if you’re burning enough of them.

The negative incline on a treadmill isn’t going to do much in the lines of elongating or stretching your muscles — you’ll have to actually stretch, to do that.

Going uphill does help to build the butt and upper leg muscles . . . but, so does going downhill (just, differently). Going down focuses on the muscles above the knee (the quads).

Building muscle isn’t necessarily a bad thing when you’re trying to lose weight . . . because muscle burns fat — the more muscle you have, the more calories you’ll burn — even when you’re just sitting at home watching television.
